Found Poem

Realms of the Imagination

Why do some stories capture the imagination of generation of readers?

We love to visit the world of the imagination

Its the reason we read literature

Literature feeds the imagination

Poems, Emotions and Feelings

Literary importance of using clear, precise images in poetry

Great literature past or present,

Is the expression of great knowledge of the human heart

Literary Treasure

"Friends"

What happened to our “circle of friends? ”
We are breaking connections, and forging new ones
Why must we break connections, to make new ones?
A few of us are left who manage to make new bonds
While desperately holding on to the friendships we know
There is something wrong with this picture
We should not be blowing each other off
We should not be pushing each other away
There is a way
To hold on to “old friends”
(Without them ever becoming old)
All of us need to learn how to make new connections
To the people around us without burning any bridges
For that is how we keep our connections
We must keep those bridges up
For bridges is the way to travel back across trepid waters

Narrative w/ song lyrics

This song is called “Replay” and it’s about a guy that has this girl stuck in his head
“shawtys like a melody in my head that I cant get keep out got me singing like na na na everyday its like my iPod stuck on replay”
“Remember the first time we met, you was at the mall wit yo friend
I was scared to approach ya
But then you came closer hopin you would give me a chance
Who would have ever knew that we would be more than friends”
So they ended up together after all
“shawtys like a melody in my head that I cant get keep out got me singing like na na na everyday its like my iPod stuck on replay”
He keeps thinking of her and he says that she changed his life and wants to make her his wife.
I really like this part:
“I can be your melody
A girl I could write you a symphony
The one that could fill your fantasies
So come baby girl lets sing with me “
“shawtys like a melody in my head that I can’t get keep out got me singing like na na na everyday its like my iPod stuck on replay”
He really can’t get her off his mind, it seems like if he really like her and he wants her

Expository esay

Child abuse is defined as a variety of abnormal behaviors directed against children. Child abuse in general is a psychological problem. Physical abuse of children is defined as excessive intentional physical injury to a child or excessive corporal punishment of a child. Torture, beatings, and assault of children are obvious forms of physical abuse. Corporal punishment by parents is subject to evaluation and interpretation. In general, spanking with a hand and other forms of mild physical punishment that do not leave any marks are considered within the realm of parental discretion. Punishment that leads to marks that last for more than a few minutes can be interpreted as abuse, regardless of intention. The use of any objects to hit a child other than with your open hand is wrong. Includes belts, paddles, sticks, or any other object. A family tradition of beatings or the fact that the parent was subjected to physical abuse is not an acceptable excuse for severe injury to a child.
Excessive physical discipline is harmful and dangerous to children. Small children can be killed by relatively minor acts of physical violence for example: shaking, dropping, or throwing the child against hard surfaces. Any severe beating with an object, forceful shaking, submersion in hot water, intentional burning, and other forms of intentional infliction of pain are inappropriate and criminal behaviors.

Vocabulary Narratiive

Declining is a word that expresses polite refusal.
An example is: “We sent him an invitation but he declined.”
In other words it’s a word for saying no! If you speak well English you will use this word as no. You may see this word in books, TV, signs, and even hear it when people are talking. Declining things can be for good stuff or bad. You should decline everything that’s bad and accept the good stuff. You can decide what to accept and what to decline in your life no one will decide for you, you have to the right choice.
Try to say DECLINING more often so your vocabulary can get bigger and better. And speak adequate language!

Reading autobiography

The kind of books that I read when I was small, were picture books that had the fewest words as possible. I don’t really like reading. But if I star reading a book, it has to be interesting at the beginning if I can finish the whole book or else I would stop reading it half way. I remember reading “The Hungry Caterpillar”, where the caterpillar got fat, because he ate a lot. I also remember “The Tree Little Pigs”, where there was a big bad wolf that wanted to eat the three little pigs. “Little Red Ridding Hood”, a wolf wants to eat the girl and the wolf dresses as the grandma. So he could eat Little Red Ridding Hood. I don’t really remember when I became an independent reader, but my sister sometimes read books to me. And when I had homework from English, my teachers gave me books so I had to read them. I don’t remember when I started reading by myself, but I remember that I use to get some books and searched through the pictures and if it looked interesting I would read it. What I read in elementary school, were books called “Open Court”, and it had short stories. And I didn’t really read that much at home, except when I had to do my reading homework.I remember a book that I read and that really touched me, it is called “A Child Called It”, it was a boy that was brutally beaten by his mother, his mother was an alcoholic. She made him eat raw food, and sometimes he didn’t get to eat, he had to do all the chores and was treated differently than his brothers. He had ripped clothes and lived in the basement, in an old army cot, his mother would keep him there, and he would get cold at night because his blanket wasn’t warm enough. She did things that left him nearly dead.
Even though I don’t like to read, I enjoy books that help you, or give you tips on how to be a better person in life. My sister encouraged me to read “How to Kill a Mockingbird”, its pretty interesting, its about an African man accused of raping a whit girl and a lawyer Atticus, trying to prove that he’s innocent, but I didn’t want to finish the book because I would get tired of reading it. And my sister kept telling me to finish reading the book, but know it’s somewhere lost in my closet. I get books from the library, school, or at home, some books I bought from scholastic. The feelings I associate with reading, are depending on the book, how touching it is. And the sensation when I read is, also depending on the book, if its interesting I want to finish reading the book, and I would like to continue reading it. But I like to read about romance and adventures, sometimes about suspense too. I remember that I read the books that the teachers gave me and I read them, but I didn’t understand the story, and that still happens to me today, I always used to re-read the stories sometimes I understand them better the second time, but sometimes I don’t understand them for sure.
